Extension of Gopalpur Port with the Modular universal formwork from PASCHAL

Gopalpur Port is located in Ganjam district of Odisha and is being developed by Gopalpur Ports Limited (GPL) under Build Own Operate Share Transfer (BOOST) model. GPL intends to establish the feasibility of setting up the required facilities for handling liquids at Gopalpur Port. In this context, the construction of foundation and load bearing wall structures had been awarded to M/S. Sai Sri Constructions.
The phase-wise development plan of the port includes setting up the infrastructure for imports of LNG, LPG, Petroleum and other liquids (POL), edible/vegetable oil and chemicals including ammonia.

One formwork system for all concrete parts

The load-bearing walls with a concrete surface area of around 1,320 m² were to be constructed within the shortest period possible. Focus was also placed on obtaining an outstanding surface quality as well as complying with all of the required safety parameters.

In order to be able to deal with these challenges, the company choose the Modular formwork system from PASCHAL. The extensive range of PASCHAL Modular universal formwork panels allows the elements to be combined in many ways. All the geometric structures were therefore produced through efficient arrangement of the formwork panels.

Quality that impresses

Ranjan Biswas, Site Engineer of Sai Sri Constructions, was highly satisfied with the formwork and services provided by PASCHAL: "We wanted to complete the project without delay and this innovative system helped us to work more quickly than expected with the result being concrete with an astoundingly good surface quality. Another positive was that the employees were very happy working with the system, which enabled time savings to be made and meant that there were fewer manual interventions required than normal. We would like to thank the PASCHAL team that supported us all the way through the project, both on-site, and from a distance. I am very happy and satisfied with the products and services from the PASCHAL India team."

Smooth construction progress as per the construction schedule

The PASCHAL material is proposed considering the feasibility of using the same material for future projects, thanks to PASCHAL's Modular universal formwork system.

As a result of precise planning on the part of PASCHAL, it was guaranteed that the available material could be used for all concrete parts without disrupting the schedule.
